Is there a special object or family tradition that is important to everyone in your family? For example, do you have an heirloom that has been handed down through generations, a quilt your grandmother made, or a special way of celebrating birthdays? For a younger relative - perhaps even for someone who hasn't been born yet - describe this family treasure or tradition in as much detail as you can.

We have a quilt my grandmother made. We pass it down the line. My mom has it. When she dies it goes to my older sister. When she dies it goes to me. When I die it goes to my child. It is only girls who get to pass the quilt down.

My family has my old baby dress that pass is down to all the girls. Yes, I'm the oldest of all the grandkids. Back to the topic. The dress is a light green & white. It's so cute! You have to see it!

A tradition that me and my family and grandparents every year a few days before christmas is that we gather up at our grandmothers and we play a game with presents. We draw numbers and if we get number one we can go first and when everybody is done number one can take any of the presents that they want. If you score any other number you take turns and any present anyone gets the next in line can steal any present he or she wants. The present only can go around three times after that you cant trade it anymore. We have a fun time with this because we can look at other presents anyone has and we can take it for ourselves.

Mummy family has an old clock. This clock has been in our family for 4 generation. My mom got the clock when she got married and hopefully will be passed down to me. The clock barely works but is still a big mark in our family history.my family cherishes this clock like it was a million bucks. Now I will admit it does look cool but I really don't understand the big deal about it .

Our family only has one specific tradition that every person in my family likes to do. That is having a get together, and of course the food at the get together. For holidays, birthdays, even just to do something for the day. My family in general just likes to get together. Catch up a little with the others. Friends come over as well. Well at least some of them do.

Every year during spring break, my family and I go to Hunting Island, SC. We go to the beach there, and swim and surf for hours. The beach isn't far at all from where are campsite is so we just walk. The beach is absolutely beautiful and is very clean. Voulnteers stop by and clean it up. There is a wildlife center were you can see some of the wildlife there. My favorite is the baby sea turtles and the hermit crabs. The trail walks for both the wildlife center and the beach is very fun and has lots of things to see.

Every year ne and may family go somewhere like to Florida or stone mountain. We each get a vote on where to go or what to do weather its to stay at home or go somewhere. if We stayed we would at least do some thing like maybe playing monopoly. If we do go somewhere it would be places like Disneyworld or riverbanks zoo.

In our family we have more of a tradition than an actually object. For the boys in my family if you are the first born son you get the middle name Ericson. On the other hand first born girls or girls in general have a nick name according to their middle name. I say girls in general because there has only been one girl born for the past 3 generations. It hasn't been officially declared a tradition it's just a thing I guess. My grandmother, mother, and me are all nick named from our middle name.

no because there is 7hours of school . we need time to have fun and I know that dose not sound good but we are kids not like you . I think it would not be help if we had homework because kids are not going to do the homework. but homework would help some of us because when we are in class we talk and that is all we do . and if it was 7 hours kids would not like they want to have fun in life . all we want is to have fun . we all want is to have fun when we are and that is after school of most of us and if you give us homework we are not getting to have fun and that makes us talk In your class and in all the class . so we do not need homework because we need to have fun and we need to go outside and have fun we people . and some people like having homework in life and some people do not and that is what I think .

My family hands down the jacket I was wearing on 1/30/14. It's been handed down from my grand father to my dad to me. It's very special to me. I'm going to pass it down to my son or daughter one day. I want to pass it to my brother but that's not how it works. He wants it so bad.

My family have a special way of celebrating Holidays. Mostly like Christmas and Thanksgiving. Three days before those holidays my mom will cook a big dinner of food. That ways when the Holiday comes, there won't be any waiting. Even though it takes a while to get prepared for these things because it's a really big dinner. My mom wants to make it special. When all that is done she would put it ways where it stays fresh for the Holidays.

A tradition that we pass down in our family is doing a cake on a person's birthday, even we they are deceased. We believe that they still deserve to be remembered. A living person gets remembered, so why cant a dead person be. My grandma passed when i was seven years old, i am now almost 14 and we have done a cake on her birthday ever since.

In my family we have a special tradition. Every Thanksgiving, and Christmas we have a special feast. It's very delightful. We all meet at one of our family member's house. All the adults bring a dish. Whether it's food or desert, or drinks. It's the best time of the year for me. Also it's very fun and funny when my family gets together.

My family has a couple traditions and one of them is going to my grandmothers house for Christmas every year. We also have some crystal and China that has been passed down in our family. We also go to my grandmothers house for birthdays and things like that. When my dad dies my dad is going to divide his guns with me and my two brothers. My dad might even pass down our cars to us when our parents die. I have been asking my dad for a couple years if I can have our Ford Excursion when he dies because it is a great truck and it runs great. Our China will probably be in our family for generations and so will the China. The crystal will be with our family for a long time with the tradition of going to my grandmothers house for Christmas. When we go to our grandmothers house for Christmas and birthdays we have to drive to Cumming GA, when we go there. It seems like a long time for a 5 hour drive but it is worth the drive because we got to see family and we have fun. The things in our family that has been passed down will keep getting passed down and the traditions will still happen.

What does a family cherish as their treasure? The jewels of my family is my family members and the actions of tradition. During Christmas, we usually have "Secret Santa". Many people like my younger siblings celebrate Easter by doing a egg hunt. My mom has my great grandmother's bed and she keeps it as a reminder of my great grandmother. My grandpa usually send my family gift cards ( which is usually $20) during Christmas time. When it is time for report cards, every A equals $5 so if I get all As I get $30.

One thing my family passes down is quilts. My grandma makes quits for our hole family. She makes the coolest looking quilts ever. One time she tried to let me make one by my self but I almost broke the machine thing. She has some friend that come over sometimes and they try to make as many blankets as they can. She has a mountain house in Virginia that they go to. This mountain house has an amazing view and is so relaxing.

One tradition my family has is when the super bowl comes around like the one this year in February. My mom has told me that the tradition is very old that they did it when she was my age. Every year my family and my other families come to my grandparents house to watch the super bowl and play games but there's one thing you have to do to get in. Every family must bring over a platter of over 20 wings of there choice. Every year my other families stick with one flavor for there wings. And if I had to say myself our wings are the best because my mom makes them so hot not even milk will satisfy your mouth.

There is a chair that was passed down from generation to generation in our family. It is a heirloom, that was in my room for fourteen years. The chair came from my dad's side of the family. The chair used to have rockers on it, but it doesn't have any rockers on it because the chair is so old. This chair was given to my great grandma as a child. Meanwhile, she passed it on down the family line. This chair is at least ninety years old.

My family does not do traditions but there is one thing that the girls take to heart. Grandma Gibson is my nana's grandma. She is the one that is responsible for making a doll set. It is all made by hand and by cloth. It is truly unique to the doll toys today. All you see in the store are plastic doll sets and factory made. She passed them to her granddaughter and then my nana passed in down to my mom and now it is in my possession. No I don't still play with dolls but I am the youngest girl. Next it will be given to my future niece. Who knows how long that will take.

As far as I know my family doesn't have any family heirlooms, but we do have a lot of traditions. The first, and probably my most favorite tradition is that every christmas eve all of my aunts, uncles, cousins, and my parents and I go to my memas house. While were there we exchange gifts, and have christmas dinner together. Also every year at the beginning of summer we have all of my cousins, and aunts and uncles over for a cook out. Each year my grandparents, my cousin, her husband and two girls, and my sister and I take a trip to Tennessee. We stay in a cabin, and go shopping, and depending on the time of the year we might go to DollyWood. I really enjoy going in the winter When it's snowing, every thing is so pretty!

I don't really have a big family tradition or a something that has been passed down the family. Although every Christmas my family and I get together and put the ornaments on the Christmas tree. Its not very big or very special, but its something we all get together and do. Each ornament is something my sister or I have made or something that means something to anyone. It may have a picture, name, birthday or even something someone gave us. My family doesn't do a whole lot together but we do put ornament on the tree every year.

In our family, we have many traditions. We have traditions like any other family, but ours are a little different. For example, on July we always go out of state somewhere and watch the fireworks and then come home to shoot our own off. Also when we go to the river we always go fishing there and whoever catches the biggest fish gets money. Although there is one tradition that we all favor. Every New Years we always invite a few families to come over and watch our fireworks. My dad would always cook something on the grill, low country boil, or something like that. Then mom would be in the kitchen cooking other foods.

In my family we have many traditions. One of our traditions is, at thanksgiving my grandmother makes a chocolate layer cake with 40 layers. It originated when my grandmothers great grandmothers was baking her son a cake for his birthday which happened to be on thanksgiving. They were very poor, they were sharecroppers living outside of Durham North Carolina. She only had enough to make 40 layers. So that Is why we always make 40 layers. Another one of our traditions is to go deer hunting thanksgiving afternoon. Don't ask me where it came from we have been doing it for as long as I can remember. Thoughs are my family's traditions.

Special traits are active and alive in many families. This includes mine. One item that has been handed down from generation to generation in our family is the wedding ring my great great grandpa gave to his wife. Through many generations we have used this same ring, this includes my mom and the firstborn in the next generation will receive it. It is a very special tradition with our family and it will continue for many more years.

In my family, we have many traditions. At or church we don't go "Trick or Treating" on Halloween. Instead, we go "Trunk or Treating". The reason we do that instead of going trick or treating is because our pastor feels that Halloween is celebrating the devil's birthday. I mean that makes sense. But Trunk or Treating is the best. Other churches do it also. Were not the only ones.

Does your family have a tradition? While my family doesn't really have the many traditions, we do have one that has carried with us throughout our lives. Every Christmas, my family does something called Secret Santa. This is where everyone in the immediate family, including my two grandparents, will pick a name in a jar other than their own. Whichever name that they pick, they will have to buy that person a present that cannot be less than twenty-five dollars. The trick is that you are never allowed to tell who you picked until after the present is opened on Christmas. This is the hardest part for me. What's Christmas without a little fun, games, suspense, and laughter?

We celebrate every ones birthday in my family at my grandparents house. If there are birthdays that are close together then we do them at the same time. Because of where my lies birthday we always have other birthdays close to it. My birthday is on May 25 and we also have a May 15th, 19th, and 26th.

A family tradition we do on boths sides of my family is having a Family Reunion. We don't have that many on my mom's side, but on my dad's side we have Family Reunions about every five years. The last Family Reunion on my mom's side that I remember was very fun there was dancing, games, food, a bouncy castle, a trampoline, and many activities. This reunion was in like 2006 so I barely remember it. It was fun though. That was of course one of the best I've been too.

The object that I have that is passed down is a ring that my great grandfather had in the marines. Its been passed down through many generations. My dad currently has it and will soon be passed down to me. After that it will be either passed down to my brother or one of my children. That is what a generation is. These objects have so much sentimental value when they were held by someone else in your family from the past.

My family has a Christmas tradition we do every year. A over the summer vacation tradition. Also a thanksgiving tradition. Basically, tradition for the holidays. Which all started in around 2008-2009. The things we do are so funny, and I don't ever want to stop these traditions.

me and my family really don't have a lot of tradition that we do every year but we do like to visit our family that is out of town every year. my mom was born in eria pensivana she moved to ga when she was growing up. That is were all my family live at on my mom side so we visit there. and for my dad side we visit them over the summer break. my dad is form missasope but he moved to ga when he was young to, but some of my family is from st.louis, and other cities we only visit them from now and then. but i think me and my family tradition is for me and my brothers birthday we bake are own cake. my mom says she has done this when she was our age , her brothers also did it to. now we do it. so i kinda of think that is are tradition. it is a lot of fun to do because you can put what ever you want to put on the cake and you can have any type of cake you want . but i think that is my family lilttle tradition thing we do every year

This is a hard one to answer because my family doesn't really have any traditions. However, we do have some items that have been handed down for many years. My great grandfather had some Hacks that were used for getting pine gum from pine trees to make turpentine. There is also a saw made out of a circular saw from a sawmill that once belonged to my step-great grandfather. The saw was made by my step-great uncle. We also have a crosscut saw that belonged to the same step great grandfather.

It is heald by supper glue now. this vase has not ran in my family for a very long time. This vase was my great grandmothers vase she bought when she was young and then she gave it to my grand father and grand mother and then they gave it to my mom and it will be past down to me when my mom will give it to me when i am a little older. this vase is a very beautiful vase. you can tell that it is made back in the early 20's or 30's.

when my grandpa was little he collected toy cars. the iron model t cars that are really heavy.they cost a lot of money and they were made in the 1950's. My grandpa always told me when he died id get one of his cars to keep. he said I couldn't ever take it out of the box because it would lose a lot of its value.

I would not like that because teen need to have fun and if your mom and dad are there you are not having fun that is why we go to the mall . teens go to the mall to have fun and to see there friends and shop for there friends ok if you was getting something for your mom and dad you could not get it they would see it and that is not because say it was chrism and you want to get them something you could not get they would see it and that not good chrism then you wouldn't want to give it to them they would know so what is the point of it if they know .

One of our family traditions was to go to Atlanta every year to go to the braves game. On the four hour road trip we would always laugh and make jokes about old times. My brother and I would always argue about which radio station to listen to. Of course dad would always step in and picked what he wanted. We knew better not to disagree with dad and listened to his country music.

My tradition in my family is that every Christmas or thanksgiving before we eat the eldest reads part of the bible. This tradition isn't that old though, we started doing this when I was about 10. Nothing could stop my grandpa from praying no matter where he is. Sometime he is in two places at once. What I mean by that is he well call & do it over the phone.
