"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind", Ghandi once said. This quote could mean a variety of different things to many diverse people. What it means to me is that you hurt someone somehow. Then they come back and want revenge so they hurt you. Hurting one eye of a person and the person coming back to hurt your eye.

Mohandas Gandhi is a very wise man and in his saying “An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.” It is known to this very day for its meaning. This saying has a meaning for arguments and wars, in which we all do, this makes all the people in this world blind of their decisions we make. The blood of the innocent are lost in war and we as people don’t care whether we have created death in the air or not.

An eye for an eye to me is when someone stabs you in the back and you turn around and stab them in the back: Revenge. "...makes the whole world blind," to me means that it takes away from whatever lesson or moral you were supposed to learn.

Gandhi is such a inspiration to others . '' An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind'' can mean a lot of things. Along time ago they had a punishment ,if you got caught doing something bad that someone could do the same thing that u did. Well ''An eye for an eye'' means that very thing. An example of when i have applied this quote is in volleyball. I got done setting the ball and going to serve.

To me, when Gandhi said an eye for an eye, it mans if someone does something to you, you do it back. When he said that it makes the whole world blind is if that happens, nothing will get solved. If someone punches one cheek offer him the other instead of fighting back. this way the whole world doesn't go insane.

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." This is probably just about everyone's favorite Mohandas Gandhi quote. Although , my reason for favoring this particular quote is not just because it sounds cool. My vision travels deeper into the actual meaning. Gandhi has said many wise things for a reason , not to just to sound all high and mighty. He wanted us to understandand and think deeper than all of the uunnecessary fights and chaos. Why become vengeful and loose lives in vain.

To me the quote "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind" has something to do with karma. If you do something bad to someone you're going to get something bad back. Maybe not from that person but karma will find some sort of way to get you back. If you do something good you'll get rewarded with good things. If you do something bad it's like taking an eye, then the person who got back at you by doing something bad gets their eye taken and you will all eventually end up blind.

What this means to me is that revenge isn't always the best answer. It also means that revenge doesn't make the world a better place. You don't always need to get revenge for what someone did to you. For certain situations revenge would be okay but not for all. People use revenge for small things that don't really matter. Use revenge for when you think you need to use it.

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world go blind" means to me that if everyone spent their time trying to get revenge on someone else what else would they do. They would get used to holding grudges and spend all their time trying to get back on someone else that they would lose sight of all of their opertonities in life to do something great but they missed it all because they were mad and wanted revenge on someone else that happened a little while or even a long time ago. "An eye for an eye makes the world go blind" a famous saying by Chandi means you are returning a bad or wrong favor. It's just like two wrongs don't make a right. As well as that, it could also be revenge. For example, if I were to hit my brother and he would hit me back and then I would hit him back, and so on. Not only would this go on forever and/or a long time, but a problem should not be solved with violence.

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world go blind". what does this mean to you? to my understanding an eye for an eye is just like saying its any man for himself. what it means to me is even though people try and bring you down you can't let them get to you or else they're winning. if you let someone get to you that means that they have that control and power over you. a person shouldn't just let someone try and control them even though violence is not the answer you don't always have to be violent just stick up for yourself. an eye for an eye makes the whole world go blind is really stating that even though someone does something to you, you don't have to do anything to them. some people think that if someone does something to you, you have to do something back or get "revenge" and you don't, its just like the saying two wrongs don't make a right and it doesn't you don't always have to get revenge on someone just because they did it to you, you can always just take what that person did and use it against them but you don't have to get revenge on the person. you can just smile and walk away from people that try and get at you, its better to walk away because that shows that you are the bigger person and plus if you smile and walk away it makes them feel bad because they couldn't get to you. how this famous quote applies to me is, I've learned that you don't always have to argue or fight with someone. if someone wants to fight you look them straight in the eye and laugh and then just walk away. I've also learned that there are gonna ne people in your life that will just get on your nerves but you have to look past them and just walk away.

''An eye for an eye'' Mohandas Gandhi said. I think it means that it hurts to be blind and to be in there shoes to know how it feels. They go threw a lot by not seeing any thing and needing extra help to get around and to even go places. I know being blind can cause so much pain to the ones who are blind and needs special treatment. Someone would have to watch over them and protect them from any danger that is around because they wouldn't be able to stop it there selves or be able to see danger come to them in any type of way.

Gandhi meant that a person who fights in violence will also be hurt. To me this means that if I hurt someone I can be hurt back. Hurting someone can have a chain reaction to where your hurt back. The Japanese are an example, when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, America responded with war. The Japanese used violence, but it came back to bite them in the butt.

"An eye for an eye makes the world blind" means that if you start stabing someone they would start stabing back. And the world is blind, mean that is not solving nothing and the best thing to never get revenge. Never get revenge because you will regrate it. You should never get back to another person. One of my story I had a argument with my brother about school stuff. He was saying that this is write and I said a different thing. We had a big argument and fight for a long time no stop at all. But i started to get mad and got on the internant and search what we were arguing about. And he was right but we were arguing for nothing in the first place we could've just went to the internant. Revenge is not good so you should always stop a think about it before you speak or do something wrong

When I say help I mean somebody does a favor for somebody else. The quote from Gandhi could also mean "you hurt someone of my kind and now you think I'll be nice to someone one of your kind." Gandhi could of also meant that if you do something to help me or someone I know than I'll do the same for you. You cant really have a specific way of telling what he meant. The saying "An eye for an eye" means if someone does something to you, you have the right to seek revenge of the same caliber. When Gandhi said "an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind", he meant that if we seek revenge on others, we lose sight of what is really important. The metaphor is that when we seek revenge, we lose sight of important things as when people take each others eyes, they both can't see. Gandhi was wise in saying this (as well as other things he said). This also can relate to modern day conflicts.

That is a very good quote by the way. But to be honest this is beyond my words but I’ll try so here goes. What this quote means to me is……oh wow this is hard! Ok enough jokes but to be honest it means to me that people do bad things to one another all the time. So if the victim’s family wanted justice for their dead family member or loved one that was murdered and they knew who the murderer is they’d want the murderer to die too because he/she took a life that wasn’t his to take. Well that’s just one example for it there is plenty more. Let’s go for a more positive example shall we: You are turning sixteen and you’re picking out your birthday cake you best friend decides to tag along just for the fun of it. You successfully pick out your birthday cake and on your way to the car your best friend suddenly knocks the cake out of you precious hands!?! Then she tells you that you don’t need that stupid cake anyway and you agree with her but deep down you want revenge for ruining the best birthday ever. Now it’s her birthday you’ve been waiting for that event for months. You decide that while she’s picking out her cake that you’ll act like you care. You did and she didn’t suspect a thing! Now was your turn while she was carrying her cake back to the car you tip it over. She is infuriated just like you that day when she did the same thing. All you could really say is, “Karma is like a boomerang: you throw it it’ll come back around one of these days.” But the sad part is that you weren’t invited to the birthday party then you do the same thing back and forth to each other for years. Then you realize that you spent half your youth trying to get revenge on someone when you could be doing so much more. But yet you are so blind …… one of the most precious things that the two of you have taken from one another is time and you’ll never get that back for the simple fact that you won’t let it go and forgive each other.

Mahatma Gandhi once said "An for an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." If you think about this is true because just because somebody has done sine thing wrong to you doesn't mean it's okay to retaliate by doing the same exact thing. That started the conflict and most if the time makes this conflict worse .
