This prompt is a narrative prompt. You will write a minimum of three (3) paragraphs in your response. Make sure to include evidence to support your thoughts and ideas.
Suppose Congress wants to make a new national holiday honoring an important person or event. Choose a person or event you would like to honor. Write an essay to convince members of Congress to accept your choice. With this prompt, you will read the paragraph below. You will need to identify the point of view the paragraph is written, then rewrite the paragraph in a different point of view. For example, if the paragraph is written in first person, you will need to rewrite the paragraph in third person.

Charlie hated being late and loved being early. He always tried to be one of the first people at school in the morning, and he was almost always the first person to finish an assignment in class. That fall his brother Tommy started school, and they have to walk to school together. Now Charlie is late a lot. He hates being late, but Tommy doesn’t mind. There is no blog for this week. A big "THANK YOU" to each student who brought in dog/cat food for the Effingham County Animal Shelter.
