In the first paragraph, describe this teacher, including his/her current teaching position, how long he/she has been teaching, his/her hobbies and interests, pets and family, and any other information that you would like to add that would help in describing the teacher that you choose.
In the second paragraph, write about at least 3 things that the teacher did when you were in his/her classroom that made you think he/she was so great. For example, think about a few of these questions when planning your response: Did you have any special activities, like science experiments, parties and field trips, in your teacher's classroom? How did your teacher reward good behavior? How did your teacher show that he/she cared about the students? What is your favorite memory from being in your teacher's classroom? What was your teacher's personality like? Did you have any classroom pets? What special things do you remember learning about in your teacher's classroom? What was your favorite book that you remember reading in your teacher's classroom? After writing the topic sentence (ex. "Mr./Mrs. _________ was the best teacher I have ever had for many reasons.") of the second paragraph, write about the first reason. Then, you can use the transitional word, "also," in writing about the second reason. Lastly, you can use the transitional word, "in addition," when writing about the third reason.
In your third and concluding paragraph, think of several suggestions for teachers who want to be the best teacher that a student has ever had, based on the description of your favorite teacher that you outlined in the second paragraph. For example, you could begin the third paragraph by saying, "If a teacher really wants to be the best teacher that a student has ever had, then he/she will?" For this paragraph, do not list all of the reasons that you gave in the second paragraph word for word. Instead, summarize them and change the wording so that you make them more general and able to apply to the teachers who you are writing the suggestions for.
